04th Feb 2025

Guyra local Ben Reinke has embarked on an exciting new journey with CT Electric, launching his career in the electrical trade through a hands-on apprenticeship. Instead of following the traditional college path, Ben is opting to gain practical experience in the field.
Ben will be working alongside Brad Lane, a seasoned electrician with 22 years of expertise.
Brad’s deep knowledge of the trade will provide Ben with invaluable skills and insights that will shape his career for years to come.
Both Brad and his wife Anne are thrilled to welcome Ben to the team and are eager to mentor the next generation of electricians. They are excited to help Ben grow and guide him through his apprenticeship, and say it is incredibly rewarding to be part of shaping the future of the trade.
For Ben, the apprenticeship is the perfect opportunity to learn while earning.
“I’ve been working with Brad during school holidays to get a better understanding of the electrical trade and see if it’s something I’d enjoy,” Ben said. “What I love most is that there’s so much to learn, and no two days are ever the same.”
As part of a small-town business, Ben will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience across different areas of the trade. Ben’s apprenticeship with CT Electric promises a diverse and exciting range of experiences, from farm pump installations to residential electrical work, industrial projects at Costa Glasshouses, and air-conditioning installations.
With the demand for skilled tradespeople on the rise, Ben’s decision to pursue this path offers a stable and rewarding career with limitless opportunities. The government is also offering fantastic incentives right now for both apprentices and companies, further supporting young people in making the decision to learn a trade.
His story is a great reminder that the trades offer a viable, dynamic career option—one that allows young people to earn, learn, and grow.
